There has been so much going on. Taxes. Decisions. The daily grind. It's so easy to get caught up in the flow. Move from one task to the other. So easily we push aside conversing with the Holy One. The doing becomes more than the being. A silent thief. The noises of the day crowd out the voice of the One who calls us by name. Our souls need nourishment. Each and every moment. To rest. In Him. Matthew 11:28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. The rest offered compares to nothing else. A free gift. The farm, the kids, the laundry all ... View Post
We’ve Always Had Enough
We've always had enough. Never too much. Sometimes barely enough. But enough. He's been my one and only. My farmer. Though, not perfect, we've made our way. We've known heartache and pain, and joy and contentment. People scoff at Valentine's Day. Poking fun. Seeing it as an over inflated, embellished, money making scheme. I'm enchanted. Enchanted by my farmer. Uniquely creating a fun day. The farming way. I may never have had a fancy dinner, jewelry or gifts. Most days I was so exhausted from work, kids, farm work, house work, etc to even remember. But he has ... View Post
Side by Side
The halls echo with a strange familiarity. The routine. Tests, scans, dr's visits. Forced date days. Side by side in waiting rooms. Small cubicles. Waiting; for tests, for results, for decisions. Side by side. Usually, I am eager to send out updates. To include the larger circle. For prayer. For support. This time. I couldn't. I couldn't type the words. I couldn't make the phone calls. I think the journey has just become too weary. But how can that be? We serve a Mighty God. A God who has allowed all things to filter first, through His hands. If I am walking hand in hand ... The discussions. Is that what they're called? Posts. So negative. So mean. Vindictive. Not a trace of a desire to discuss. Shouts. Loud expressions of self. Face book. A platform. To speak. Unedited. Uncensored. Why? Life is changed, when you go. Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." When you teach. When you Love. There is One King and ... View Post
The Definition of Love
“God's viewpoint is sometimes different from ours - so different that we could not even guess at it unless He had given us a Book which tells us such things.... In the Bible I learn that God values us not for our strength or our brains but simply because He has made us.” -Corrie Ten Boom The Hiding Place I Corinthians 13:4-5 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. (emphasis mine) ... View Post
The Day I Lost Hope. . .
We sat at that farmhouse table, gathering documents. In the morning they would head out to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Months of planning, accepting donations, prayers. The final details. Prepared. Until the farm boy joked. He threw out the idea. "What if the passports were expired?" The seed of doubt; quickly became a reality. The college girl and farm boys passports would expire while they were in Haiti. The farm boy, brushed it off. We just need to trust. This farm mama began a journey new to her. I searched the internet for all information I possibly could find. I ... View Post
