That Inner Circle Day #18 of Thankfulness

18 Nov

Spent a lovely evening out last night. Amazing food and service.  Treated by friends who never seem to let us go.  Holding us close.  Caring.  Checking in.  Helping us move forward.  Friendship.  Beautiful.  Cultivated.  Grace.  Surround yourself with those that encourage and challenge you.  We are blessed to have those in our life who continue to walk with us.  Fill your world with those that seek to see you more like Christ.  Take inventory of that inner circle.  When that circle is spurring you on; you have ... The Rest of the Story Day #13 of Thankfulness

13 Nov

We had errands to run.  Bread from the bread store and Ink for the printer.  Our reward.  Coffee. (they even spelled Christiana's name correctly!) A splurge.  An indulgence.  Creating a memory with the dancer girl.  His card.  Now. . . with a balance of zero.  The gift, I think, from Project Graduation.  Found in his wallet- after they returned his belongings to me.  The wallet he had on him when he passed from this life to Glory.  Now kept on my farmers bureau.  The Starbucks card nestled in between his ... Great is Thy Faithfulness Day #9 of Thankfulness

9 Nov

A few months ago I lost something that was dear to me.  It was just a material possession so, I let it go.  I've lost so much more.  Then tonight as I put on a jacket and reached in the pocket. My lost item had been found.  A sweet sensation spilled over my being.  An unexpected surprise.  In gratitude I shared my find.  Sometimes we are lost.  Looking and searching for that which we can not find.  This year has been full of continuing changes.  My dad getting new digs in a nursing home, Clarissa graduating and leaving for college, ... When You Measure Life in Months

28 May

The 28th has rolled around again.  Life is like that.  The beat ever steady.  Moving forward.  Relentless.  22 months have passed.  Each day reliving, longing.  Trying to shake the words, "There's been an accident." Longing for my boy.  Longing for the way things were.  Yet, longing to be more like Christ.  Yearning to made into His likeness.  That my words and actions reflect the deep love He has shown us.  And I fall short.  My words and actions the very opposite of what they need to be.  So, I surrender ... The Farmer’s Wife I Called Mother In Law

18 Dec

I can still feel the peace when I entered her home.  The country charm.  The warmth.  The smells.  The open door.  Oh, how I loved and admired her.  She could bring a calf to the barn as easy as whipping up a tasty meal.  There was always room on her lap for one more.  Room at the table for another to sit.  Always time for coffee. There was always a solution to every problem.  Life was a journey with God as her companion.  Her creative touch transforming gardens and rooms into things of beauty.  The light left ... View Post

What Do You Do When The Soul Ache Is Deep?

10 Dec

Sometimes there are just no words. When the searing pain creeps in.  The ache unbearable.  The silent screams wanting a voice for all this to not be.  It's Advent.  A Season of Preparation.  And today breathing seems hard.  And we're told when there are no words.  When the soul ache is so deep; we would have a comforter.  Romans 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. This comforter ... View Post
