I awoke early that morning. A content, exciting feeling washing over me. I was marrying my friend. It was a good thing too. Our journey would take us through many hills and valleys. Uncharted territory. Christ as our compass. Joined together. Friends. Just a month before he had proposed in a horse barn at the Tunbridge Fair. He asked if I would spend a life time being friends? We would taste bitterness and disappointment. Child birth and child death. 'Til death do you part passed beneath our doors. For richer has not knocked too often. . . poorer has been a constant ... Living Fully
Another perfect summer day. The wind blows. The sun is shining. No humidity. Shows and a wedding. These are days that the living flows. Days that take little effort. The ease with which to work. It's easy to find hope on these days. Yet my heart still holds back. Each day healing. Each moment filled with grace. But just under the surface the pain and the missing reside. Forever changed; yet today needing to be lived through. Psalm 118:24 This is the day the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad ... View Post
Don’t We All Just Want To Be Loved?
My Youth Pastor spoke at our wedding. He performed the ceremony in our field, over looking the beautiful, fall landscape and Mount Mansfield. He spoke on Love. (Big surprise! Right?) He quoted lyrics from secular songs. " I want to know what Love is", "Love; it never hurt so good". An entire society trying to figure out how to do love. Love has more to do with the sacrificing than the ... View Post

Little did I know what the evening held in store. A few hours later, my best friend asked me to spend the rest of our lives getting to know each other, to serve God and continue our friendship as husband and wife. He gave me his great grandmothers ring. Which fit perfectly. We got married less than a month later. . . that story in a few weeks. . . Well, it's been a few weeks. . .and here is the ... View Post
Happy First Anniversary Chelsea and Adam
A year ago, on a dreary day such as today. We created our own sunshine. Vows were exchanged and a new journey began. A beautiful little girl. Grew to love this man. And when he came to us to ask if he could have her hand in marriage. . . Her daddy said, "No, no, no." And then after a conversation and hugs. We both gave our blessing. Such a beautiful bride. So many dreams. Such a future before them. And even though you know she is arriving by tractor. . . When you hear the engine start, your heart, for a moment wishes she were young ... View Post
