Election Day! Day #8 of Thankfulness

8 Nov

Here it is Election Day!
A day that used be somewhat exciting and patriotic.
A day when my heart swelled with gratitude for the exercise of freedom in this great United States.
I woke last night.
Yes, just after my last post about not having trouble sleeping.
I woke.
And could not fall back to sleep.
I realized it was the election on my heart.
So I prayed for this great Nation.
And fell back to sleep
I woke again this morning with peace.

This is still a great Nation.
We are still here.
When our son died.
God left us here.
For a reason.
For a purpose.
We still have a voice.
If the 2 candidates we have running for office are sub par- it is only us we have to blame.
I am turning off the media today.
I am heading to prayer and coffee.
I am giving thanks for each moment.
I am going to make a difference today in this world- because I have that right.
My hope is in Jesus.
My strength alone lies in the LORD.
I have unspeakable joy, deep peace, amazing love and everlasting Hope because of that Faith.

The dancer girl called me to watch something the other day.
I thought maybe she had gone a little mad.
But I went anyway.
What I saw made me laugh and laugh.
Laugh so hard my stomach hurt.
Every time I watch, it makes me giggle.
Please watch take a moment to watch.

Where there is a will there is a way.

Matthew 19:26
Jesus looked at them and said,
“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

I pray that you are encouraged today.
That no matter the outcome of this Election that you will remember this is America.
We will stand behind the new President.
We will learn to work together.
We will above all Pray with out ceasing.

~30 Days of Thankfulness~

I am thankful for:
Chickens

chicken-jumping-video

Watching chickens
the sounds chickens make
the way they flock around you like they need you

chickens
A country where we can still vote
A God who will never leave us nor forsake us
the hope we have
the gift and power of prayer
this Nation
Mercy and Grace; both of which I am in great need

I will also leave you with a music video I posted on my face book wall last night.
I wrote:
I love this man’s heart. He too has walked the broken road of losing a child.
He too knows where the source of our strength lies. This song speaks of my farmers and my heart.
God is on the throne. Always has. . . .always will. Praying for all the candidates. Praying for grace.
