It’s been a year!
It’s been a year since we officially hosted our first guest in our Davis Farm Guest House.
Since then we have met some amazing new friends.
Hosted folks from all over this country and the world!
There have been times when we wondered if we should keep at it.
There were no bookings.
There seemed to be stretches of time when all seemed so silent.
Success is not measured by the position one has reached in life, rather by the obstacles one overcomes while trying to succeed -Booker T Washington
We have been reminded to pray.
To remember that this is not our business.
This business belongs to the LORD.
He will guide us.
He will bring the guests He wants to rest here at this place.
The work has been tedious at times.
Changing beds, mopping floors, getting towels washed and dried before the next guest arrives.
Wanting things to be just perfect for the arrival of our guests.
We have learned much.
God doesn’t always answer our prayers the way we want. . . or when we want.
God seems to have his own time schedule.
Though, He is never late.
I continue to learn to rest in the unknown.
I don’t know if we will have guests through the winter.
Is this really what God wants me to be doing?
Am I in his will?
As we celebrate this year Anniversary.
I can only go to what I know.
We have been blessed by this work.
The Lord impressed on my farmer, “More people.”
For an intense introvert, those words could only be divine inspiration!
So we’re celebrating!
One year.
We’re waiting.
To see what God will do next.
We’re trusting.
In a future that is unknown.
We’re hoping.
In all that is good and lovely.
We’re thinking.
