I open my eyes.
The moon light illuminates all in my room.
I lay there for a moment.
I breathe deep the start of a new day.
Even after three years it is still so hard.
It is still my first thought when my eyes flutter open.
It is still a weight I carry every day.
As I lay there, I gaze at that moon.
It is truly beautiful.
So large.
Bright.
Soothing.
The message at church spoke of light.
Light; illuminating the darkness.
Jesus was that light.
He came.
Humble.
Strong.
Preaching a message of hope.
I grab my coffee and turn on the fire.
There is a bit of a chill in the living room.
A reminder of the all that is still left to do before winter.
I reach for the Ancient Word.
My strength for the day.
My hope for tomorrow.
The days tasks begin.
I am thankful for:
The super moon that woke me from my slumber
The hope of a new day
The light that shatters darkness
the farm boy’s Senior Pictures; where has the time gone?
A gorgeous fall day
the countdown until the college girl heads home
the list making for holiday preparations
The smell of hot coffee when I walk into the room
our Women’s Breakfast on Saturday it is still lingering on my heart
the CVU singers at church yesterday, what a gift
Guests in our Guest house
evening conversations with a friend and my farmer
growing and learning
the choice to wake up and be positive; with Christ all things are possible
Matthew 19:26
Jesus looked at them and said,
“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
I choose each day to walk with God;
To rest in his grace,
To rise in Hope.
Some days are better than others.
But each day is a choice.
May you walk today in that grace.
Ready to God’s will.
Wrapped in a blanket of Hope.
Reaching for the possible.
Listen to the words of this song.
Elijah would have loved the drums and the message.
He wasn’t perfect and he wrestled with the message of the Gospel and how you lived purposefully for Christ in such a fallen world.

Lift Your Head You Weary Sinner
Lift your head weary sinner, the river’s just ahead
Down the path of forgiveness, salvation’s waiting there
You built a mighty fortress 10, 000 burdens high
Love is here to lift you up, here to lift you high
If you’re lost and wandering
Come stumbling in like a prodigal child
See the walls start crumbling
Let the gates of glory open wide
All who’ve strayed and walked away, unspeakable things you’ve done
Fix your eyes on the mountain, let the past be dead and gone
Come all saints and sinners, you can’t outrun God
Whatever you’ve done can’t overcome the power of the blood
If you’re lost and wandering
Come stumbling in like a prodigal child
See the walls start crumbling
Let the gates of glory open wide
If you’re lost and wrecked again
Come stumbling in like a prodigal child
See the walls start crumbling
Let the gates of glory open wide
(Ooh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh)
(Let the chains, the chains, the chains,
The chains, let the chains fall) repeat
If you’re lost and wandering
Come stumbling in like a prodigal child
See the walls start crumbling
Let the gates of glory open wide
If you’re lost and wrecked again
Come stumbling in like a prodigal child
See the walls start crumbling
Let the gates of glory open wide
