Our Perspective is Everything

25 Jan

I wake to a head ache.  The dull, throbbing kind.   It's time for milking.  My farmer brings me an Advil.  I fall back to sleep.  When I wake again it is to moon beams streaming into the room.  I glance out the window.  The view breath taking.  The moon; full, bright.  Illuminating.  I lay there for a moment.  Those first few moments of waking are always difficult.  I purposefully change my thoughts.  2 Corinthians 10:5 We demolish arguments  and every pretension that sets itself up against  the ... Jesus Came to Change Our Lives. Not Our Circumstances.

16 Jan

Last year.  My farmer and College girl where in Haiti on this day.  Now they've been again.  Here is a re-post of thoughts on Water.  One of our most important resources.  Do You Have A Decent Source of Water?  John 4:14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst.  Indeed, the water I give them  will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life." Water An integral part of our life.  Without it; we can not survive.  Yet there are nations that struggle.  Clean drinking ... View Post

They’re Going. . . Again

11 Dec

26 days.  There are 26 days until they leave.  My farmer, farm boy and college girl are getting ready.  Shots, paper work and prayer.  Knees bent low as they trust for each piece of this journey.  They're going because they desire to serve.  The skills they use each day here on the farm yearning to be used for a people in need.  Arms aching to hold those who long to be held.  So, on the wings of prayer, they will go.  To a people and land loved deeply.  It is here the effects of chemo and radiation faded away as my ... That Inner Circle Day #18 of Thankfulness

18 Nov

Spent a lovely evening out last night. Amazing food and service.  Treated by friends who never seem to let us go.  Holding us close.  Caring.  Checking in.  Helping us move forward.  Friendship.  Beautiful.  Cultivated.  Grace.  Surround yourself with those that encourage and challenge you.  We are blessed to have those in our life who continue to walk with us.  Fill your world with those that seek to see you more like Christ.  Take inventory of that inner circle.  When that circle is spurring you on; you have ... At First There Were Two Day #17 of Thankfulness

17 Nov

At first there were two.  Two went with hearts bursting.  To a country in need.  My farmer and now college girl.  When death and cancer had been our companions.  A spark was rekindled.  A yearning to go.  And they did.  They went. They were changed.  The heart of the people forever ingrained in their souls.  And now they are going back; with nine.  To bring much needed items.  To be the hands and feet of Jesus.  A response to the call.  Go! Luke 10:37 The expert in the law replied, ... View Post

The Rest of the Story Day #13 of Thankfulness

13 Nov

We had errands to run.  Bread from the bread store and Ink for the printer.  Our reward.  Coffee. (they even spelled Christiana's name correctly!) A splurge.  An indulgence.  Creating a memory with the dancer girl.  His card.  Now. . . with a balance of zero.  The gift, I think, from Project Graduation.  Found in his wallet- after they returned his belongings to me.  The wallet he had on him when he passed from this life to Glory.  Now kept on my farmers bureau.  The Starbucks card nestled in between his ...
