Friday Morning Musings

24 Feb

There has been so much going on.
Taxes.
Decisions.
The daily grind.
It’s so easy to get caught up in the flow.
Move from one task to the other.
So easily we push aside conversing with the Holy One.

The doing becomes more than the being.
A silent thief.
The noises of the day crowd out the voice of the One who calls us by name.

Our souls need nourishment.
Each and every moment.
To rest.
In Him.

Matthew 11:28
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

The rest offered compares to nothing else.
A free gift.

The farm, the kids, the laundry all vie for my attention.
I feel snippy.
There are church issues and financial stress.
We all have them.
They are just called by different names..
The things that take our energy, moment by moment, until we realize how depleted we are.

Here and now is new life.
A new breath.
A new day.
A new moment.
One to surrender.
One to rest.

The sun comes up over the mountain.
Spilling it’s radiance.
Illuminating the dark.
Slowly.
Purposefully.

Let our walk today be in the light.
May we lay our burdens at the foot of the cross.
Confess those things that separate us from full communion.
Let us wrap ourselves in the radiance of Christ’s love and then let it spill over all those we meet.

Letting go of the heavy burdens.
Standing on the Promises written.
Walk in the Freedom.
