Putting More Feet Onto Our Dreams

10 Aug

We’re putting more feet onto our dreams!

Dream –a cherished aspiration, ambition, or ideal.

Do you dream anymore?
Has Covid stolen so much of you?

When Covid began we were in the middle of my farmers worst depression.
We were almost out of wood and still facing most of winter.
We were purchasing feed at a rapid rate (and price) for the cows.
Our cash flow was in the negative.
And even the possibility of selling cows was not feasible.

We were stuck.
The weather raged.

Covid reared it’s ugly head.
Reports of death and sickness flooded the news.
Schools closed.
Businesses shuttered.
We were called to shelter in place.

And the world as we know it came to a screeching halt.

A time out, if you will.
I wrote a blog post about that time.

Seeking purpose in this time.

Let God turn our fear to faith and panic to peace.

It takes time and intention.

As the Spring unfolded and celebrations of graduation and weddings began to be cancelled my heart broke.
All these milestones.
Cancelled.

What can we do here?
How can we help?

I prayed and had a few ideas.
I sent an email.
I did a few inquiries.
But nothing really came forth. . .
Until. . .

Our daughter got engaged!!!

And the planning began.

A phone call to our tent guy began a new adventure we have chosen to take!

With that phone call we began a new journey.

We’re putting more feet onto our dreams.

A few years ago, as my farmer prayed for wisdom about our farm, he felt God saying, “More people”.
If you know my farmer, he would say less people.
And even that would be communicated through few words.
But he felt that strongly.
More people.

Maybe, this is the start of that?

I don’t know all of the details.
We are stepping out in faith.

Trusting that the pieces will fall into place.
We will be given wisdom as it is needed.

For now.
We will mow.

We will pray.

And we will dream about making the beginning of a few couples a year,  journey together, magical!

The Elijah Todd Davis Memorial Fundraiser will be able to cut costs!

We’re opening the doors to this farm once again!
For a few weekends a year, we will host a few weddings.
Contact us for more information!

We’re stepping out in faith.
And we’re believing great things!
