30 Days of Thankfulness, Finding Rest in the Chaos, Day #15

15 Nov

When you look around it’s chaos.
Barn roofing, piles (neat piles); but piles.
There’s equipment and open spaces where a barn used to be.
Headlocks lay as they fell.

Beams cut off.

I walk through the area.
I pray.
We want to be faithful.
This is not our space.
Not our land.
Nothing is ours.
It belongs to the LORD.
Long ago my farmer and I knelt together and surrendered this place to Him.
The one who counts the stars.
The one who Promises to never leave us nor forsake us.

Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them,
for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

The morning of Elijah’s home going, the sky was illuminated in the most beautiful way.
Awe filled my being.
It was later that someone saw the heart in the pink sky.
I took this picture so it is not doctored in any way.

I named this picture, “His mercies are new every morning.”

God’s mercies are new every morning.
They are fresh and free.
Each day brings a new start.
We can’t diminish or get rid of the past, but we can allow God to use it to shape and refine us.
In the desert God sent a cloud to the Israelite’s to guide them.

Exodus 13:21
By day the LORD went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way
and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.

God uses His creation to guide and move us into His path.

My friends.
God IS at work.
Even when it seems He is so distant.
I know this.
I wake each morning crawling to my Savior.
In the night Satan works his ways to discourage me and tell me lies.
In the wee hours of the morning I crawl, step by step back into truth.
I read that Ancient Word.
The truth of who I am.
The Truth of who HE is.

Rest in that Truth.
Remind yourself daily that God loves you.
He is fighting for you!

Yes.
Fighting.
I struggle to remember this.
I wrestle with my sin laid bare before the Creator of all Things.

I am nothing, but for His grace.

He has done the work.
The wretch that I am was made whole on the Cross.
My sin and shame was taken on.
All because He loved me.
The sunshine pours over the Mountain this morning illuminating the fields.

The frost sparkles in the brillance.
That is who we are.
We sparkle with the light that shines on us.

As we are purified that light is even greater.

Be encouraged today.
Find rest.

As I walked back to my car, I could feel God reminding me.
“This is Holy Ground. ”

Acts 7:33
“Then the Lord said to him, ‘Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.
