The mama’s and babies begin their journey to the barn.
Just a few days old and those calves are strong and ready to move.
It doesn’t take them long to find their legs and explore.
Yet they always know their mama.
To her, they always return.
Sometimes the calves need to be carried; the mama’s follow.
Seeking their Offspring.
Today they walk; with their mama’s, around their mama’s.
Flitting here and there.
Yet always close.
The journey never taking them very far from their source of strength .
Why do we forget that lesson?
Why do we attempt to live in our own strength?
Prayer pushed aside.
We rush in.
Triage.
Shoot from the hip.
Forgetting the Provision made, Once.
For All.
Hebrews 10:10
And by that will, we have been made holy
through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
The calves roam around.
They gain strength and independence.
They are strong.
Resilient.
Their mama’s hover nearby.
Letting them explore.
Yet never, for one minute, losing sight of where they are.
I watch them.
Giddy in the field.
Sunshine; warming them.
They are safe.
They are free to roam and play.
When we rest in our Father’s plan;
when we yield to the Master’s way, we too can know Freedom.
Refreshed.
Renewed.
It is in the surrender that we gain our Freedom.
It is in the act of laying our burden at the foot of the cross that true release is found.
I envy those calves.
Running free.
Not a care in the world.
May we all know the Freedom in Christ.
The true release that comes from giving it all away so that in turn he can pour back into us.
2 Corinthians 4:7
We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure.
This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.
Great reminder of where are strength comes from.
