It’s 3 a.m.
The early morning sky brilliant.
There is still a hush over the farmhouse as the youngest farm girls make their way down the stairs.
One lingers at the coffee maker.
So, like her mom.
My farmer meets them at the door.
Their day has begun.
Together they will make memories, milk cows, and measure time in groups.
Gratitude pours over my being.
Gifts of daughters and their dad.
A bond so rich and full.
There are laughter and smiles.
Stories to tell as they make their way in for breakfast.
Hunger gnawing at their insides.
The smell of bacon and potatoes tantalizing.
~30 Days of Thankfulness~
I am thankful for:
Rich laughter in the early morning
Coffee and Hot Chocolate
Memories made
A family business
How different our children are
The heart of each of our children
A warm kitchen
Fresh eggs
The holiness held in the early hour
A new day
Strength for the moments
Will you join us on our gratitude walk?
I Thessolonians 5:18
give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
I will try. Your words are so eloquent and genuine. They inspire to notice, examine, and appreciate deeply. To slow the chaos of everyday life and take time to focus on the precious and important moments.
