Behold, He Comes

7 Jun

The video plays.  The tears come.  The ache deep within. Oh how I miss him.  I listen to the drums.  His style soft and enjoyable.  The song plays.  Behold He Comes.  He would come. He would take my first born. And He would come again and take my second born.  In the early hours of the morning.  He would come. My farmer and I talk. Sometimes we feel like we're just living, waiting for Christ to return. We're so done with being here. . . on this earth.  The pain excruciating. Everything feeling out of whack. Is this how all ... Happy Birthday Mom

19 May

Mom would be 78 today. Be grateful for your time. Live. Love. Forgive. Be present, grateful to God, in the moment. ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` It's my mom's birthday. She would have been 71. Her birthday so near Mother's Day. I would always send her flowers for Mother's Day and a present for her birthday. I remember her last Mother's Day.  The woman asked me what I wanted to say on the card. I must have known in my spirit that this would be my ... View Post

Being In It For The Long Haul

24 Mar

I am in this for the long haul. This journey, called life, is only a shadow of what is waiting. It demands endurance. We have a family moving out to farm alongside us.  They are packing all they own and know and hauling it across this beautiful country. They have a long haul in front of them. This is a new culture and climate. Many adjustments.  They need to be in this for the long haul. This journey in life.  It is not easy. It is riddled with strife, heartache and shattered dreams. There is great beauty, and there is deep pain. Yet there is comfort and hope for the ... View Post

Our Highest Calling

9 Feb

My Highest Calling. I stare at his picture.  I still can't believe he is gone. My first born, my flesh and blood. I touch the picture. Longing to touch that skin, to hear the sound of his voice; calling me mom. I remember when he first called me mom. Do any of us ever forget? I had already lost a child that never called me mom. So this was precious. Oh, so precious. Those words came out. Words I had longed to hear. So much wrapped in 3 letters. 3 letters I will never hear from him again. I wrestle each day with how this can be God's plan. How such a fun, handsome, ... View Post

What Really Matters Anyway?

11 Jan

January 11, 2021 I wrote this 7 years ago. I have reposted this today. The grief still stays. It changes. The longing to see my son is still so raw. Yet, my treasure still rests in heaven. I hope you're encouraged by these words. I pray that no matter what your days holds, that you know, "What Really Matters, Anyway?" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- January 11, 2014 You didn't' store up treasure here on this earth. You weren't here long enough. The things of this ... View Post
