30 Days of Thankfulness Day #7 Music

7 Nov

Our family loves music. Different genres. Right now, we love Christmas Music! And before you go judgey,  judgey, we're Thankful for Christmas music and so many other things. Everyone in the family sings or plays an instrument or both. My farmer and I met while he was playing music. Most of our courtship involved music. Somewhere along the line that stopped for us. But our kids carry the torch. Music touches the soul; a healing balm, A universal language. It was years before I could touch the piano after Elijah died. Tears would flow as his drums sat in the corner. The silence ... View Post

The Importance Of Naming; remembering 9/11

11 Sep

She's been playing the cello for 3 years.  She practices willingly. . . sometimes.  This summer she didn't want to play.  She said she was done with the cello.  But she has music in her soul.  She fought the entire process.  I knew in my mommy's heart she will long to play someday.  So we begin the fall lessons.  She doesn't want to go.  She is angry.  We talk through trusting me on this one.  That sometimes mommy's know things.  She agree's to trust.  This little 9 year old.  Stepping in faith.  A ... He would take my first born. And He would come again and take my second born.  In the early hours of the morning.  He would come. My farmer and I talk. Sometimes we feel like we're just living, waiting for Christ to return. We're so done with being here. . . on this earth.  The pain excruciating. Everything feeling out of whack. Is this how all ... These Words, To Live By

1 Mar

Because He Lives. .  I can hear her singing now.  I can face tomorrow, Because He lives, All fear is gone.  I know the words by heart.  She often sang it as cancer's clutches tightened their grip.   Because I know who holds the future,  And life is worth the living  Just because He lives.  My mom loved music. She loved all kinds of music.  I grew up listening to albums of the Beach Boys, Rhapsody in Blue,  The Kingston Trio and even the Smothers Brothers.  There was always music coming from that stereo in the ...
