30 Days of Thankfulness. . . . Are you in?

1 Nov
Are you in?
Are you willing to count your blessings?
Can you name them. . . one by one. . . ?
When death and cancer knocked on our door;
we stepped into praise.
When the path has seemed so long and hard;
we’ve stepped into Praise.
Won’t you join us on a grateful walk?
Be purposeful in turning to praise?
No matter the walk.
No matter how hard.
Turn it to praise.
I’m trying.
Psalm 92
 It is good to praise the LORD and make music to your name,
 O Most High,

~ 30 Days of Thankfulness~
I am thankful for:
The ways in which God surprises me as I walk this journey
my children and their uniqueness
Starlit nights
A home full of kids
friends who never let go
A visit from a college friend who stands at the grave and says,
“Tell me about Elijah.”
bonfires
Crisp, quiet mornings
The Ancient Word
Farming
my farmer
coffee
lessons I am learning; even in the struggle
Our new Guest House venture
knowing we are held
I’d love for you to join me in this journey.

    […] The urge to call my mom strong.  To talk about holiday plans; and a list of so many other things.  The music plays on It soothes my being.  I recognize the melody and style.  Both favorites of my mom.  Interesting how that song, played by that accompanist would come on at this exact moment.  I move through the tasks of tidying up; my heart filled with gratitude.  I may have lost much in a short amount of time.  But I had much to lose. . . and for that I am grateful.  ~ 30 Days of Thankfulness~ […]

    […] 21 Nov She’s home.  She’s here.  We ate dinner together; around that farmhouse table.  We held hands to pray.  It is in these moments that the empty spot is felt.  We all feel it.  I breathe deep.  I focus on what’s right here in front of me.  We sing our song for grace. The song the oldest brought home from Preschool. Sung for more than 24 years.  There is laughter and joy around this table.  These silly kids.  This is what God wants me to enjoy.  Right here and right now.  30 Days of Thankfulness~ […]
