Scrumptious Scones
I hear you! Scones conjure up thoughts of dry, flavorless blobs of cooked dough. An experience that leaves you searching for a liquid solution to the parched palette. But this recipe, I can assure you, is everything delicious!!! Made with butter and buttermilk these scrumptious scones are a wonderful addition to any meal! We love to have them for Breakfast. I serve Greek yogurt, granola and Strawberries and blueberries with the scones! And of course steaming hot cups of coffee.

Instructions
  1. Mix all the dry ingredients with the butter. I mix in my stand mixer until well mixed. Then pour in the cold water slowly until it’s of the right consistency. At this point I may divide the dough. Often, I double the recipe. Once it is in a ball shape I add 1/2 c of dried Cranberries and 1/2 c of white chocolate chips and mix that well.(I usually use my hands, but you can use the mixer gently)  If the dough feels sticky add a bit of flour and mix with your hands.   I use a pizza stone to cook my scones. Form the scones into rounds about 4 in round and 1 inch high. Sprinkle with raw sugar.  I use a metal straight scoop to cut them into quarters. If you make a 6″ round cut into 6ths. Bake for 12-14 minutes. Looking for a golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool. Store in an air tight container. But they don’t usually last that long here. They freeze well.
