We gathered together over coffee and tea.
We shared a meal.
Then it got real.
One brave, brave woman shared her story.
It wasn’t always pretty.
She opened her heart.
Vulnerable.
Raw.
Strong.
Beautiful.
She gave all she had.
Surrendered,
in the mess, to the giver of life.
She gave him the broken pieces and he rewrote a beautiful story.
A story of faithfulness and grace.
Of strength and glory.
She shared with us; this beautiful woman.
Our stories are important.
They weave together the tapestry of who we are.
When we share the journey, we release the stronghold that binds.
We allow the Holy One to fill those spaces once held in bondage.
When we yield to the Savior he does a beautiful work in us.
Hebrews 10:24-25
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,
not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing,
but encouraging one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
I am thankful for:
The gathering of women; sharing, real, open, surrendered
Brave women who tell their story of redemption
Coffee and time to gather
the way God has taken the broken pieces and woven together our need for him
A church that has a space to gather and willingness to be real
For women who desire to work to provide events like this
A fall day, brimming with sunshine
Guests in the Guest House
A daughter who recognizes that the house is a mess and picks up before I get home
Another gathering with women over coffee and tea
A local coffee shop were we can gather
cell phones to remind me I am late to bring a daughter to dance
A night with no place to go
A couch full of kids
A movie and take out
grace that allows me to experience great joy
These words by Elisabeth Elliot are so powerful.
Think on them today as you journey.
“The secret is Christ in me, not me in a different set of circumstances.”
